Day 2
Caitlin grumbled as she stumbled through the doors and into the foyer of the apartment block. The bags had left painful red dents on her arms and weight of her shopping seemed heavier than before. She let the bags rest on the floor and waited for the others, massaging her sore arms.
"So, who's place are we going to? Should we just dump the stuff in someone's room and look for an apartment for Val and Beth?" Caitlin yawned slightly 'Wow, I guess I'm more tired than I thought...hopefully we can get everything sorted soon, so I can have some food and go to sleep'

Mike followed Caitlin in, shuffling his bags guiltily as he saw the red marks on her hands and arms.
"Uh, just dump it in mine for now, there's nothing but a guitar in there at the moment, so there's plenty of room." He wandered over to the elevator, casting a cursory glance over the monitor displaying the state of the apartment's rooms, noting that his was marked as occupied, along with one nearby.
"I'm guessing this other one on the second floor that's occupied is yours, Caitlin," he said, pressing the button to hail the elevator and rejoining the group. "We might as well all get apartments near each other, unless either of you two have other plans." - he gestured at Val and Beth - "We should go see if there's anyone else around while we're here as well. Oh, and you all definitely need to go to the roof and have a look out." He swallowed a small burst of panic at the memory of the wasteland. In his childhood, his imagination had conjured up many similar wastelands that featured in the books he read, but the impact of seeing one in reality had caught Mike off guard. He was quickly learning to expect the unexpected in this city.

Fumbling through the doors with the bags, Beth looked around intrigued by the apartment block. She hadn't noticed this before, but then again she hadn't exactly been looking for buildings. Stomping into the elevator, she seemed to ignore the others for a while, simply trying to pay attention to detail or clues to their whereabouts, yet no sign lay bear for the location of said "city."
Stood in the elevator, she heard Caitlin and Mike recalling their rooms on the second floor. Staring at the monitor of rooms available, following Mike's line of vision, she stared at the number of vacant rooms. "More people must be coming all the time...were we one of the first?" she thought to herself, raising her head to inhale deeply before trying to pay attention back to the others.
"The roof...you said that before, but why? To see the whole city? Yeah that'd be helpful.." She said, mostly talking to herself before anyone could reply. "But we'd better put these bags down first!" She groaned, placing them on the floor of the elevator to give her a few seconds of relief. Lifting her hands, she stretched them and rubbed them, trying to remove the indents in her skin from the bags.

Valencia was at least a full minute after the others, but finally toppled forwards into the room to catch herself at the last minute and stand up straight, glancing around for an elevator.
Her hands let go of the bags she'd been carrying and flexed briefly before she angled them beside her shoulders and lifted herself up into a sitting position, still breathing heavily. "God. I was not... huff... expecting it to be that much effort." She massaged her tired arms and sighed, then blinked and realised she was going to miss the lift. She yanked the bags back up from the floor and sprinted over to the elevator, ducking in quickly and leaning heavily against the wall.
"The roof sounds like a good idea. But yeah, definitely let's drop the bags off in someone's room beforehand." She slid down the wall and ended in a sitting position on the floor, getting her breath back.

Day 2
Despite the fact that the elevator would only be taking them up two floors, Caitlin sat down on the floor, the soft movement of the elevator was putting her to sleep. The elevator dinged, rousing her from her light 'sleep'. She heaved her self and her bags from the floor and stumbled out of the doors. "So Mike, what number is yours?"
She glanced around the hallway, Caitlin shook her head 'Wow...I must have been really out of it yesterday...I don't recognise any of this, I'm just lucky I know my room number'

Mike smiled quietly to himself again as Beth and Val struggled with their bags. "We'll put them in my room," he said to them all as the lift began its brief ascent. "225, or maybe 245...yeah, 225, because it was close to yours on the monitor." he said to Caitlin as the comfortingly familiar elevator music cut out and the doors slid open. "Rise and shine, you two," he grinned at Val and Caitlin, quickly stooping to pick up his bags, and one of Val's that looked the heaviest, hoping she wouldn't notice. He had always fancied himself as the unsung gentleman: helpful, but never brash or arrogant about it. He stepped briskly out of the elevator. "Right, then."

Watching as Val and Caitlin sat upon the floor, she smiled and giggled quietly to herself. Beth took the time to stretch and relax before hearing the ding of the elevator. With a look to the other two girls, she smirked as Mike spoke. "Yeah, come on. Unless of course you want your room in the elevator, Val" She laughed, heading out of the elevator first with her bags.
Looking at Mike as he picked up one of Val's bags, she smiled warmly at him, tilting her head and winking before walking down the corridor before Val could see. "225 then.." She mumbled, counting the numbers on the doors. Upon reaching the door, she leant on it, trying to open it with her hands full. Grumbling, she placed one bag down and opened the door, giving it a firm push with her shoulder. The door swung open, letting Beth exhale congratulatory. Picking her bags back up, she heading inside and towards the kitchen before putting them back down. "The rooms are nice" She commented, looking around.
[sorry for opening the door, but it's going rather slooowlyyyy so i thought i'd attempt to speed things up a bit C: if you dont think i should of, just message me and i'll modify it. x3]

Val's eagle-eye mentality did let her notice her bag getting carried, but she seemed happy to let it go - at least for now. She hooked the rest onto her arms and staggered into the corridor, glancing up and down the hall for a few seconds.
"Yeah, yeah... Coming..." she called to Beth before turning to the open door and slipping through it. She unceremoniously dumped the bags in the small kitchenette area and stretched her arms with a grunt. "Alright. I'm going to go snoop around the apartments. Leave my stuff here or put it in the fridge or just shove it outside the door if you want, I'll be back later."
She felt like she needed space, and maybe some time to think over what had happened to her. Although her new friends were... well, friendly, and supportive too, Val was still unused to company beyond temporary acquaintances. She headed out of the door and after a moment's debate she turned to the staircase and took the long way to wherever she was going.
[ Guys I'm gonna take Val out of action for a little while, it's not fair to ask you guys to wait for me to post when I have so much college stuff to do xD I'll still be moderating though. Have fun! <3 ]

Day 2
Caitlin wandered 3 doors down to her appartment and opened the door. She set her bags on the floor and let out a large sigh of relief. Everything looked the same as it did before she left. Curious, she walked in her bedroom to discover that her bed had been re-made and the window opened slightly to let a soft breeze in. 'Ok...Should I be creeped out that someone has been in my room, or thankful that they made my bed?' She quickly put away anything that needed cooling into the fridge and unpacked the rest onto the counters. I'll sort this all out later' Caitlin walked out into the hallway, shutting her door behind her, just in time to see Val heading towards the staircase and disappearing out of her line of sight. She twisted a lock of hair between her fingers, walking towards Mike's apartment.
"Hey guys, sorry about wandering off like that; I just wanted to check on my room...it's odd though...someone has made my bed...you think this place has maids or something? I really don't like the thought of strange people in my room...even if they are cleaning..." Caitlin pulled slightly on the lock of hair that she had been twisting and bit her lip. She released her hair and pushed it behind her ear, "Here, let me give you a hand" Caitlin reached into a bag and pulled out some of the frozen goods that Val had bought.

Mike followed Beth into the room, setting Val's bag down with the rest of her stuff before tossing his bags carelessly onto the bed. He nodded a goodbye to Val, and sat down heavily on the bed - he'd had too much walking to do.
"Yeah, they're pretty neat," he said to Beth, casting his eyes around the neat, modern apartment, "Guess they'll do to live in until...yeah." He coughed awkwardly, and moved over to unpack Val's bags - better her stuff was in his fridge rather than going off on the floor. He smiled gratefully at Caitlin when she entered and spoke, breaking the silence. "Hey, you're right, my bed was a tip when I left," he glanced over at his bed, the sheets cool and clean, as if they had never been touched before Mike had sat on them. "I didn't see any maids. Heh, to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if there was a robot or something doing all this. This place is full of surprises."

Dropping the bags on the floor, Beth sunk into the sofa of the living room area. Letting out an extravagant sigh, she stretched and leant her head back, looking up at the ceiling as she did. Listening as Val left, she moved her hand in a wave of goodbye, letting out a tired, "See yah!"
As Caitlin entered the room shortly after, she leaned forwards, resting her elbows on her knees and head lowered. "Sheesh, tiiiiired" She moaned, pausing as Caitlin spoke about her beds. Waiting for Mike to reply, before replying herself, she let out a small laugh. "A robot? Haha, that would be rather cool though." She sighed, heaving herself up onto her feet and carrying her bags into the kitchen.

Day 2
Once Caitlin had helped to put everything away she slid onto the couch and pulled her knees to her chest. She shivered. "Hey guys, is it just me or is it cold in here?" Caitlin rubbed her arms, trying to heat herself up. 'Why do I have to be really sensitive to decreases in temperature...I feel like a reptile...maybe a snake, cos they're awesome...speaking of which, I wonder if they have any animals here? If they don't...How the bloody hell would I survive?' She came crashing out of her thoughts as she felt a sharp pain in her bottom lip. She had bit through her lip. A large trickle of blood slid down her chin onto her knee. "Shit" Caitlin held her hand over her lip, to stem the blood flow, and rushed to the bathroom.
The blood was flowing quite heavily now. Flecks of blood landed onto the floor as she ran. Caitlin grabbed the toilet roll that had just been placed in there and tore several segments off; pressing them to the cut. She watched curiously as the soft paper absorbed the blood quickly. Quickly tearing more segments of she switched the now soaked sheets for new ones. Caitlin sighed angrily Why does this always happens with cuts. They bleed loads and take ages to clot!' She changed the toilet paper held to her mouth and sat on the bathroom floor. Her lip was starting to throb and she loosened her hold on the toilet paper.
Caitlin took a quick look around the bathroom, noticing the flecks of blood on the floor and over the sink. "I'm really sorry Mike!!" Her shout was muffled slightly by the tissue. She lent her head backwards until it rested on the wall, closing her eyes. Why do I have to be such a friggen idiot sometimes?

Mike put the last of the shopping away, and wandered over to his guitar, picking it up and idly twanging on the strings. He sat down on the bed. "Cold? Ehh, not feeling it. Were you on holiday in Spain or something before you got poofed here?" he smiled, quietly checking the guitar was in tune, strumming each string a few times experimentally.
He looked up sharply as Caitlin swore and ran off. "Hey, you alri- woah, shit," he said as he noticed the blood dribbling down her chin. He was tempted to follow her, but part of him resisted - he didn't want to embarrass her further.
"Well, whoever does the cleaning is certainly going to have to work out how the floor got blood all over it." He smiled, and rapidly strummed a chord three times. As he did, he suddenly felt a rush of air behind him, and...a flapping sound? He shivered at the cool breeze that had suddenly buffeted his back, and noticed his shoulders suddenly felt tense. He grimaced, and looked around. There were no windows open. 'How could there have been a breeze...'.
Gingerly, Mike reached over his shoulders with one arm, and cried out as he hand touched feathers. "The FUCK is on my b-" he was cut off as he leapt up, making the top of the guitar swing upwards and hit him on the side of his face, hard. Immediately, he felt blood welling up in his nose. Ignoring the blunt, numbing pain, he continued to feel the feathery...things...that were on his back. Suddenly, they moved, accompanied by a flapping sound. Mike shrieked. He backpedalled, slamming his back against the wall. He looked up, breathing heavily, to find himself looking in a mirror. The sky outside had become slightly darker, and in his reflection he saw...wings.
"The fuck..." he mouthed, his breathing steadying. Small, feathery...pink...wings. Suddenly, he grinned madly. Whoever put them in this place had a sense of humour, at least.

Upon hearing Caitlin curse and run off, Beth simply raised an eyebrow, staying calm and standing up from crouching down to the cupboards. Looking over, and hearing Mike swear, she'd missed seeing the blood and was quite unsure as to what just happened. "Are you okay?" She called into the bathroom, leaning on the shiny clean kitchen surface.
Hearing her reply a short while after, she sighed and hopped onto the kitchen surface, sitting on it to face Mike who was sat upon the sofa in the other room. Listening to his harmonious strums, her expression changed from somewhat vacant and relaxed, to completely and utterly confused. In a puff of feathers, Mike suddenly had a small pair of cherub-like wings. "What in bloody hell-" She exclaimed, before hearing a poof behind her back also.
Quickly turning her attention back to herself, she flinched, not wanting to turn around but unliking the new added weight to her back. "You're kidding me.." She mumbled, turning sideways, still on the counter, to look at her new wings. They were pink of all colours, this caused her to grumble slightly before the realisation of what had happened hit her. I have wings...I have WINGS! She thought to herself.
"This is a bit weird, but I swear if these are just for decor i'll be completely unimpressed!" With that, Beth pulled her legs up onto the counter also, and stood up tall, glancing over the apartment. Looking down at the floor, she estimated that being this high would not cause her to break anything if she jumped without the wings working, so it was worth a try.
Biting her lip, she leapt off the counter, the feeling of the wings moving on her back, she attempted to use successfully, managing to float in the air for a few seconds before dropping lightly to the ground. "Oh..my god. THIS IS AWESOME!" She exclaimed, flailing her arms before turning her back again to look. With some strange movement and control, she stood engaging her wings in a small flapping action, continueing until she actually began to lift from the ground, letting herself onto her tiptoes before seemingly stopping. A bit miffed that was as high as she could go, she still seemed amused and repeated the cycle over and over.

Day 2
Once her lip had finally stopped bleeding, Caitlin began the task of cleaning up the blood on the floor and sink. Yay...such fun... She used wetted toilet paper, since the floor was wooden. I'm glad that this is wooden floor and not carpet...that would be bad She heard Beth talking in the kitchen and shook her head Same old Beth...well technically I'm older than her...but that would ruin the saying...friggen hell I'm getting lost in my thoughts again. Caitlin looked down and realised that she had been wiping the same spot over and over again and the toilet paper had fallen apart.
The bathroom was soon blood free and she let out a sigh. "I'm so tired" she muttered to herself. Suddenly, in a poof of pink feathers, a pair of wings appeared on her back. Caitlin let out a small yelp, before glaring at the mess of feathers on the floor and then glaring into the mirror at her new accessories. "WHY DO THEY HAVE TO BE FRIGGEN PINK!!!??" She shouted out, pulling at her hair in distress. "I HATE PINK!!! AND I JUST CLEANED THE BATHROOM!!" Caitlin stormed out of the bathroom pouting, with folded arms.
She stared. Both Beth and Mike also had pink wings. She let out a small snort at the fact a man had pink wings too. If there was one thing Caitlin loved, it was seeing men suffer, especially if it involved embarrassment 'Not that Mike isn't nice or anything, he's cool! I suppose it's my feminist side that enjoys it.'. "I've cleaned the blood in the bathroom, but the friggen feathers decided to ruin my effort. Sooo...any idea why we have these...things...?" She poked one of her wings in annoyance.
