Day 2
Even while Caitlin helped to pack the bags, her thoughts kept drifting to her family. Here she was having a pretty good time, while her family were probably worried sick. She faltered and almost dropped what she was holding, Caitlin turned away from the others briefly to wipe away tears that were threatening to fall.
She couldn't worry the others with her pessimism, they had their own problems too, but weren't crying about it. 'God, I feel like such a child...I'm meant to be an adult and yet here I am crying over everything...' Caitlin forced a smile to her face and resumed packing, hoping that nobody had noticed.
"Hey if you guys need some extra space to put the shopping you can put it in my apartment, it's on the second floor!" she exclaimed a little too cheerfully "That reminds me...hey Mike, what floor is your apartment on? Oh and we need to get Beth and Val a place too! It was pretty empty when I was there last night."

"I've done waaay too much walking today," Mike smiled wearily, packing his stuff into a couple of bags, "The apartments are a little way away, but it's not too far. Heh, don't worry Val, there's a lift." He looked up at Caitlin's question - "Hey, my apartment's on that floor too! Maybe we should all grab ones next to each others'? There's only a guitar in mine at the moment, so it won't be difficult to move closer to you guys, and it'd be nice to have some semblance of a neighbourhood round here, rather than us all being spread across the entire building."
He put the final item in his bags before loading them onto the trolley. He scratched his head. "It's a pity we can't just scan the trolley and take it with us," he laughed, "Make things a lot easier. "

Scanning the last items from the trolley, Beth sighed, stretching her back from bending over to pick the remaining items at the bottom of the trolley. "Finally..." She muttered, placing her hands onto the handle of the trolley as she awaited the others placing the final bags in. "How far is this apartment?" She asked, "As Val said, with these wheel locks we won't be getting far. We're best just to carry them from here then we won't have to take the trolley back as far" She explained.
Letting go of the trolley, she turned to the side of it and picked out a handful of bags for her left hand. "I'll take these for now then take the trolley back, if you wanna leave me some i'll carry some in my other hand after i've taken it back"

Val nodded to Beth, grabbing as many bags as she could reliably carry - and then some. Staggering for a few seconds, she regained her balance and seemed to find an equilibrium. "Ok... Ok, I'm good. Grab stuff and let's go. Someone put the trolley back." She nudged it with her foot, then quickly realised that standing on one lag was a bad idea and stamped her foot back down, keeping her balance with a little shift of weight to her left foot.
"Er, lead on, Mike. Sooner we get there, sooner we can dump this stuff, right?" Clearly Val had taken a lot more than she needed to, but she looked pretty determined and not likely to let anyone take anything off her.

Day 2
Caitlin pushed the trolley back to where the other trolleys sat, before heading back to help carry the bags. She looked towards the others who were also weighed down by the sheer amount of shopping that they had done.
"Right then, shall we head off? I don't want to carry these bags anymore than I have to." With that said, she started walking towards the exit, turning her head occassionally to make sure that the others were close.

Miked grinned at the girls, one light bag in each hand. He would never understand the female need to buy -and thus try to carry- far more shopping than was necessary. He looked at Val struggling under the weight of her mountain of, well, everything, and opened his mouth, before noting the determined "No." expression on her face and instead addressed his offer to the other two:
"I'm not really pulling my weight here, so if you guys wanna offload any bags onto the designated manly man, feel free." He smiled, shifting his bags onto one hand to avoid mixups with bags anyone else chose to give him. "Otherwise, we might as well start making our way to the apartments." He followed Caitlin, turning and beckoning the other two. "With me."

Beth grumbled a bit at the ignorance of the others as to her offer to take the trolley back, sighing to herself as Caitlin returned it, she spread her bags into both hands and stood beside Valencia, awaiting their exit. Glancing down at Val's bags, she raised one eyebrow. "Here, let me carry one for you-" She offered, extending her hand to grab onto one of the bags. "And I don't care if you say no, i've not got enough, and you've got too many. Match made in heaven. And i'd prefer we get there with all bags in tact, not with a few broken as you passed out half way" She laughed, tugging on the bag.

Val growled irritably at Beth's attempt at taking some of her bags, clearly unwilling to let any of them go. After staggering a few more steps, however, she seemed to have second thoughts. Leaning over and unhooking three fingers from where they'd been carrying two heavy bags, she lowered them gently to the floor and stepped back, feeling a lot lighter on her feet now that she'd gotten rid of some weight.
"Alright," she sighed once this was done; "alright, alright. Yeah. If we went up or down any steps I'd have been screwed. Thanks." Her tone was begrudging, but Val wasn't a mean-spirited person and she could tell already that the people she had somehow fallen in with were friendly and helpful. She made a mental note not to try as hard to show off. There was no need. Wherever they were, it wasn't a dog-eat-dog world.
