Peyton completely ignored her question, moved bubble-popping close, and then retreated again. While doing so he made a grand speech that would probably have put that one guy who drew a line in the sand to shame. But it ended basically the same (though a bit modernized).
"Are you in our out?" Somewhere in the back of her head, Audi was vaguely aware she hated this guy. He was proud, self-assured, and...Well, there was just something about him she didn't like.
On the other hand, he spoke of grand adventures, just like a child's faerie tale. He seemed the type of guy that could find a pirate ship, take it over, sail around the world, and make it back to where he started just in time to point out to you that you smelled like fish and should probably take a shower.
And then he'd probably offer to join you.
But she was never one for laying around, and he was offering SOMEthing, even if she wasn't entirely sure what. So, with a shrug and a step to follow him, she answered with a cool, "Sure, why not."
