OOC: This is not a single shot...even though it might sound like it...I'm getting bored people. Let's make something happen.
________________________________________________
Peyton had come to the gruff realization that he arrived here in this city with out anything aside from the clothes on his back. He was absolutely okay with this until he jumped out of his bed at two in the morning in a cold sweat trying to shake the screaming out of his head. In the mirror, he looked like a complete wreck. Dirty hair, greasy face, his clothes completely wrinkled and tacky looking.
His first thought was to get himself a drink...off set all the energy that was pulsating through his muscles and through his brain, but his sudden flash of rage told him straight up that drinking would probably make matters worse. He's wake up in a daze, puke and probably fall asleep in the street, and then look at that...whoever else was here would think he's just some drunk in a business suit and even on a bad night, worse than this, he was above that. So he decided to take a walk, from where ever he was to where ever his feet would take him.
Peyton walked through the streets, rubbing his temples and watching the lights above him fade in and out with the malfunctioning wires in his head. At a moment, he leaned up against a light pole, sick right down to his stomach but moving would be the only way he could get out of this funk...the only way without meds.
He took note to the gates he passed through, though not very diligently. The tumblers clicking in spontaneous combinations through his mind finally stopped on something that made sense, he remembered that he had been here earlier that day. Retracing his steps, he did his best to try and find the spot he woke up in. Maybe he dropped the little orange bottle of his brain matter in the bushes...but the jeans he was wearing were so tight that an ant would even have trouble getting out.
Peyton stopped in the middle of the path, another sensation rolled over him like his body was about to completely short out. The lights flashed above his head again and he couldn't quite feel his feet on the ground because his heart was pounding too hard in his chest.
He lost the fight to keep his eyes open.
The ground hit him harder than usual, sending a shock wave through his bones, making them rumble and jiggle like the finest plate of gelatin a person could ever see. Peyton rolled over on to his back, feeling his head begin to calm through the cold, strangely forgiving stone path. His eyelid fluttered closed again and he took the time to think about his next breath, next movement, next set of plans...maybe in the morning. It felt like he wasn't going anywhere.

Audi taking another walk in the park. She enjoyed the park, more than she had enjoyed parks before. There was just something about this place. She could probably camp out sometime...She thought she remembered seeing a tent in the store. She should do that soon....Audi didn't know if/when the weather wouldn't be as nice.
She saw a tree, and decided it was time to relax. She easily climbed up, and found a branch perfect for sitting on. She leaned back, and tried to find the perfect combination of dozing and alertness (falling off the branch because she fell asleep wouldn't be good.)
She had just managed to find the perfect combination when she heard someone stumbling around. Opening her eyes, Audi saw that guy from earlier fall to the ground. That wasn't good....She swung down and hurried to his side. Yeah...He was definately passed out.
Audi gently shook his shoulder. "Hey. Hey...Wake up." She hoped he would wake up...She was at a bit of a loss at what to do. She had a bunch of random skills....Medicine was not one of them.

Peyton mumbled through the dark, feeling a very gentle shake to...somewhere on his body. He went for something of a mental jolt, which partially worked since he was able to open his eyes and even feel the muscles in his body begin to wake up. Blinking hard in the harsh light above head, he focuses on the person shaking at his now conscience shoulder. She looked something familiar..."..right, I met you in the park, earlier..." he mumbled, tongue falling all over itself.
Peyton's body obviously didn't want to cooperate and just sort of sit there in the middle of the path for all to see. He was quite sure at some point before this he didn't want to look like some fancy pants drunk. Well then, way to go, he just failed. At least he was actually drunk. That would've been a complete mess. He looked to the girl again, then back to the relatively empty sky, "You didn't have to wake me up."

Audi was rather suprised when the shaking thing actually worked. She honestly hadn't really thought it would. But hey - she'd take the win. She was glad it had worked, after all. Or, she was, until he opened his mouth.
"You didn't have to wake me up, you know." Okay, Audi hadn't been expecting a thank you, but the ungratefulness was uncalled for. He didn't even have to be grateful. But ungrateful? Really?
"Right, next time you can wake up damp from the dew and looking like an idiot for passing out." While rolling her eyes at the guy's obvious inability to chill, she suddenly noticed his very TIGHT jeans...Or possibly jean-painted skin. How did he even put those ON?....Not even girls wore pants that tight. If he gained even an ounce of weight throught the day, they'd tear....

Peyton tried making a reminder to keep his eyes open but it really wasn't working because for the third time he can actually count, his eyes have shut themselves on their own accord. Cool. And he supposed that she was right to be a little grateful that he wasn't being raped or something like...getting pissed on. He nodded and waved his hand around regally, "Then, thank you. I suppose you could've been someone else less aesthetically and mentally pleasing."
Opening his eyes, he looked her over then closed them, focusing on letting his hot nerves waste away in the ground, "Yes. I fit into these pants just fine, if you were wondering."

People had this odd affect on Audi: the more full of themselves they were, the less impressed she was. And this guy might be the most full-of-himself person she had ever met. And what with her moving around a lot, she had met a lot of people. He even managed to wave his hand in a regal manner. Who does that?
His second statement was much better.
"Yes. I fit into these pants just fine, if you were wondering." She laughed.
"And, to top it all off, you're a liar. Those pants wouldn't fit a STICK just fine, and yet you've managed to squeeze into them." She was exaggerating. Slightly. But so was he - those pants most definately did not fit him "fine."

"I can show you how well I can get out of them if you're so convinced they don't fit..."
He opened an eye and gave her a little smirk, "But I doubt you'd be too happy if I did that. You don't look the type."
Peyton made the motion to get up but he only made it about half way up before losing the strength to do it and landed on his back with a bit of a harder thud than the last time. The impact made him feel like coughing up the lung that may have just loosened up and bounced around his ribcage. If he weren't so concerned about the damage possibly done on his insides, he was sure that the wind was just knocked out of him but there he goes again, sitting up and rocking up to his knees. Right...and opened the eyes.
Peyton reached out a hand and looked up to the girl, "Mind helping me up? I can take my pants off laying down just as easily as standing, if not easier, but like I said. You're probably not all that interested."

Audi had just decided to ignore the boy's smart-ass comments when he collapsed on the ground. She winced that looked like it hurt. Quite a lot, actually...
"Mind helping me up? I can take my pants off laying down just as easily as standing, if not easier, but like I said. You're probably not all that interested." She wasn't entirely sure that statement made much sense in context, but she shrugged and held out a hand.
"I don't think you're in any state to be doing anything right now, as you can barely stay concious," she pointed out. And he did seem to be having trouble with that...He hadn't even managed to get himself standing. She wondered what was wrong with him, but decided not to ask. It's rude to pry into people's lives, after all. No one really appreciates it. She helped him to his feet.

When she held her hand out, he took it with one hand and grabbed her waist with the other, lightly tugging himself up and taking his hands with him in the momentum. Peyton rocked up onto this toes, smoothly kicking out a leg to catch him from falling down again. He gave her a quick smile and a thank you before refocusing his thoughts onto her face. Straightening up, he gave a hoarse huff that was supposed to resemble something of a laugh, "I can't stay conscience, huh? I can't really lie my way about that, but you're easy to read. At least I can play my ailment off in a few minutes."

The kid -
"What's your name?" she asked.
-pulled himself up via her waist, and gave a huff that reminded her of a horse. He then went on to explain he's a better liar than her.
"Uh...So?" When did this become a contest? She didn't recall ever making this a contest. And as for being able to read her face...Well, she couldn't help that. Suprisingly, her parents hadn't thought lying a valuable trait to learn. For some odd reason, they believed honesty a good thing.
She wiped her hands on her jeans, wiping off whatever the guy might have on his hands. Frankly, she didn't trust them, and she DEFINATELY didn't want to know.

"Peyton," palmed his eyes until he saw little stars behind them then let go, letting his hands drop back down to his sides. He looked up in time to watch her wipe her hands off on her jeans. he snapped his teeth and they almost curled into a very unpleasant sneer, "I'm not infected," he growled, wiping off the seat of his pants and what he could of the back of his vest, "I just don't have my meds with me."
And I never said being easy to read was a bad thing," he sighed, taking a few steps in each direction, "I was just merely stating you are. I've grown into the habit of doing it." Peyton spun around quickly, any signs of fatigue or I-just-blacked-out-and-hit-the-ground-like-a-rock magically vanishing from his face. He looked down at her with wired eyes, blinking back the random surge of electricity through his bones, "Sorry if you feel..." he paused for the word, "violated...and your name is?"
He thought he might as well ask her for something else aside from a partial groping and some sarcasm.

So he had caught the hand-wiping thing. But not the reason. She wasn't worried about catching whatever he had - she had a kick-ass immune system. Though it WAS interesting to note he needed meds. If she were a cruel person, she'd lie to herself and say she figured. But she hadn't figured. You don't go around assuming that stuff about people....Or, she didn't, anyway. But now she knew his name was Peyton. That's one step towards a normal conversation!
She looked on with amazement as he suddenly looked completely normal. If she didn't know any better, she'd think she had imagined the whole thing...But she hadn't. (Although, she had to admit the whole experience of this city made it hard to convince herself she wasn't crazy. The two things didn't really mesh well.)
"And you're name is?"
"Audi," she replied. "And, for the record, I never thought you were infected." She recalled the way he had staggered in every direction before he had suddenly erased the whole scene from his appearance. "Uhm...You know where you're going, right?" She figured she should make sure. It would really have done no good at all to wake him up if he staggered off, got lost, and passed out again...

"Audi?" he smiled, the name had familiar bounce on his tongue. "I knew a girl named Audi. At least...that was here nickname. She was quite nice...too nice for my tastes. I was afraid i might ruin her or something." He gave her another stoic look over and snapped his teeth, "She had pink hair, though."
Peyton dug into his back pocket, taking out the little device and gave it a scan over before deciding to use the twitter system he found out about for a few thoughts on his mind then closed it.
"Of course I don't know where I'm going," he stated proudly, walking over to the park bench nearest to the, and hopping on. He kicked his foot up on the back of the bench and searched the area like some cliche hero, "that's the best way to go, is it not?"
Sitting down on the backing to the bench her cradled his cheek with a toothy smile on his face, "Unless you're offering to adventure with me; you know...show me your wares."

She didn't volunteer that "Audi" was her nickname as well. She hated it, and never gave it out willingly...ever. She wasn't even sure her boyfriend had known her full name....Huh. Peyton snapped his teeth again. She remembered him doing that from the park.
"Unless you're offering to adventure with me; you know...show me your wares," Peyon finished.
Audi had stopped listening, and had to review the conversation to know what The Lady's name he was talking about. Then she rolled her eyes. She was starting to think he did have some compulsive traits...He didn't mean half of what he said, just added it because he felt he should and knew that he could.
"I was OFFERING to help you find your way to where you're going before you pass out again, but suit yourself. Before I take my leave though, I'm curious: why do you keep snapping your teeth? Do you have a compulsive tick or something?"

Peyton ignored he last part of her sentence and snapped his teeth again, with a little more power behind the bite, "I never said no, but I rather prefer an adventure than a tour guide..." Peyton hopped down off the park bench and strolled towards her, boxing her in with his foots steps, "wouldn't you?"
He took a measured step forward then back, landing exactly where he was just laying. Turning on his heels, he started walking away from her, rolling his wrists like some bored Prince, "I'm not going to stick around here, Audi," he paused on her name and turned, the distance between them actually considerably far, "I've got lands to discover, parties to crash, tight jeans to buy. Are you in or out?"
