Name: Richard Eteos
Nickname: Whiz
Age: 24
Sex: Male
Description: Standing at 6'3" and 192 lbs., Whiz isn't a small person by any standard. He slouches most of the time, though, so he appears shorter than he is. He has a slim build, but he is well muscled and toned underneath that. His hands in particular are very tough and callused, but his fingers are deft and smooth. He constantly has his hands tucked in his pockets, or behind his head.
His skin is lightly tanned. Whiz's dark brown hair is of medium length, down to his neck, but he ties it back in a short ponytail to keep it away from his work. His bangs are very carefully gelled into parallel parts that fall away from his face. His bright green eyes spark when he laughs and catch light very well. His smile is very white and straight.
His usual wear is a thin, red sleeveless tee. Over that he wears a black windbreaker that is very tight to his skin. The edging is a yellow-gold. He wears black and gold fingerless gloves with velcro straps. Whiz's pants are khaki cargo-pants with a pocket on every square inch of fabric, all containing parts of some sort. His shoes are white with silver stripes.
Personality:
Whiz has a tremendous sense of humor. He loves to hear jokes, learn new ones, and, above all, tell his favorites. He likes to make people laugh, and laugh in return. He sees humor in everyday life, sometimes to the point of unwarranted levity at inappropriate times. There aren't a lot of things that make him happier than making someone else laugh.
Whiz makes things. It's his passion. He doesn't stick to just mechanical things, either; if he can dream it, he's gonna make it. He's spent most of his life in a workshop, and he has the IQ to bring his ideas life. His areas of expertise include but are not limited to: simple and complex machines, engines, small-scale architecture, medicine, computers and wiring, clothing, toys, and food/drink. He is mostly self-taught, but he was apprenticed to a master inventor from a young age, where he gained the basic skills to invent.
For all of his hard work at inventing, it's hard to match his laziness at life. He loves to simply lie down and watch clouds go by, or listen to some good music, or chat with some friends. Sometimes, while he's chilling, he'll fiddle with small pieces of machinery that he carries around with him. He dislikes strenuous work that doesn't apply to his hobbies. Also, he reacts well to intense or stressful situations
Whiz has always been good with women. He understands how to talk to them, likes to flirt with them, and is always looking for the hottest girl in the room. However, he introduces himself as Richard to women; Whiz isn't a very masculine name in his opinion. Many women find his smile infectious and his speech alluring. Of course, he'd never exploit that to his advantage....
History:
Born and raised in a small urban community, Whiz was initially abandoned in the streets. He was adopted by a married couple who worked as engineers, and had always wanted a child. The man was a big, brawny person who knew everything there was to know about engines and machinery. He repaired cars and other automobiles for a living. The woman was a master of the finer crafting skills: cooking, tailoring, and medicine. She worked as a nurse at the local hospital.
However, a heavy fire in the surrounding neighborhood robbed a 12-year old Whiz of his family. With his inheritance, Whiz went into business privately, patenting several of his inventions for steady profit. At age 19, he had accumulated enough wealth to live comfortably on his own and dedicate his time to inventing new things.
For five years, he expanded on his knowledge of everything that could be crafted, dreaming of bigger and bigger projects. He became a master craftsman, very confident with any sort of tool and project.
And then one day he vanished.
When Whiz awoke, he was lying on a cold steel bench at the crossroads of an abandoned avenue with a matte black device in his hand. Intrinsically understanding its functions, Whiz stowed it away in a large pocket and got up, just to see a large sign plastered against the wall of the building.
"Welcome to the City!"
