Beth sighed as no response was heard by Caitlin's shouts. "I have no idea...but I wouln't feel right stealing. I don't think we're meant to steal" She said looking around, pacing to the front of the store and looking at the till-like structures. "Well, they don't have any coin slots.." She muttered, examining them. Dumping her scarf and gloves on the scanner, she bend down and shuffled all around one of the machines. There weren't any holes to enter money, not even notes. The till didn't even seem to be plugged into anything, unless it was plugged from underneath. The only thing was a scanner and a small LED-like bulb which was currently not alight.
"There's only a scanner- and I think this is the reason we have these devices!" She exclaimed, something clicking in her brain as to Caitlin's comment on the communicators. Pushing the clothes over the scanner, two beeps emerged. Seemingly beeping for each item set, yet they had no barcode. Pausing for a second to stare confused at it, she took out her device and held it under the scanner. After a few seconds, a melodic chime rung from it and the light flashed green on the till. "Booyah!" She exclaimed, removing it and holding it up in the air, in a cheering taunt. "Now we know how to buy things! I'm too great." She said, putting it back into her pocket and placing her hands on her hips dramatically, posing in a superhero type way, before laughing and starting to put her gloves and scarf on.

Val looked crestfallen at all this mention of stealing. It just didn't sit right with her at all, the thought of taking things that weren't hers to take. She had no idea what to do, though, and looking down at herself she couldn't just take off these new clothes and put back on her old damp stuff. She wasn't sure she could face it.
"Then what...?" But Beth looked like she'd worked it out. Val silently thanked whatever weird-ass powers were watching over them and hurried over to the counter. She didn't know what she'd do without someone to rely on at the moment, and it seemed Beth was happy to fit that bill.
Speaking of bills... Val fumbled in her pocket for the communicator she'd transferred there from her old jeans just minutes before, and tentatively held the device up to the scanner. It made the same (as she liked to think of it) congratulatory noise at her and lit up. She smiled, satisfied that she wasn't nicking off with stolen goods, and turned to Beth. "Great job, Beth. Seriously. You're too smart."
Val flipped open her communicator and tapped out a message for the blog section (which she was determined to get the hang of), then snapped it shut and shoved it in one of the pockets in her new cargo pants. "So. Where to?"

Day 2
Beth had figured out how to buy things, 'what a relief' one doubt still filled Caitlin's mind "Hey guys, this communicator thing...I don't get how it lets us buy things, does it mean that we can buy however much we want and not worry about money, but in that case, why have them at all...something doesn't seem right" Caitlin bite her lip as she too scanned her communicator, this whole situation was too much; nothing was explained and every time they figured something out, more questions arose.
She was so deeply immersed in these thoughts, that she only just heard Val asking where they should go next. "What about looking for a food shop, if we've got to live here now, we might as well get something to eat." Her stomach grumbled "Heh...wow...I've just realised I haven't eaten in ages, well not since coming here anyway...speaking of which how long have you guys been here?" She snuggled into her new jumper and sighed, "I've been here since yesterday...when I woke up in the park, I went to the apartment buildings and got a room...I fell asleep and when I woke this morning I felt the need to explore this place."
"I'm really glad I did, I don't think I could have handled this without a friendly face around" She smiled at Beth before turning to Val "And I'm happy to have a new friend too!" Caitlin pulled Val in a light hug. "Right!" She exclaimed as she let Val go "Shall we embark on our next adventure?!" She gave a goofy grin while linking arms with both girls and heading towards the exit.

Beth let out a laugh at Val's "smart" comment, "Me, smart? Pffhaha-" She burst out laughing, wiping her eye from an invisible tear. "Yeah, food store. I think I remember seeing a ultramart or something, sign when we were at the station.." She explained, pondering to think back, but shaking her head as she failed. "Lets go back there, and hop on the train, we'll be there in no time"
As Caitlin linked her, she smiled and pulled her communicator out of her pocket, flipping it open as they walked and glancing down at the new blogs and people that were here now. "Woah there's a lot more people than I thought..." She mumbled, as a new blog flashed up, one from Mike who she'd met in the café, saying he'd found the shop. Grinning, she posted a quick reply and snapped it shut, trotting off back to the station to hop upon the train.
[Closed. Continue at the shop? No point dragging out being on the train as it'd only last like 2 posts. We can cover it in our intros for the shop.]
