once upon a time…
Those tales that told stories of great beings ruling the heavens have passed down from generation to generation. Fables that spoke of deities watching over mortal men capture everyone’s attention, shaping culture and even war. However, such great stories just couldn’t be made on the spot. There is always an origin to them.
Gods, all across the world, are in fact real. Real as you and I. at one time, humans worship and praised them. Yet, when the world began to change, humans didn’t see any reason to keep gods in their hearts. A wave of Monotheism religions took over the religion of many gods, making them simply stories. These deities were left alone, barely a handful of humans to believe in them now.
So, they decided to blend with mortals. Walk among them, live with them, understand them. All across the world, all the deities agree to be this way. Grecian, Roman, Egyptian, Norse, Native America, India, every god that had at once being praised took up mortal lives. All of them waiting for the day where humans needed them again.
Now in the year 2011, the air is heavy with the threat of chaos. The gods can sense that something is going to happen when their presence must be known again. Even the mortals know something is going to on. Is it the fear of the year 2012 or something else?
